Compared with other drive engineering users, the steel industry offers an almost unmatched diversity of gear types.
And the requirements for these gears are typically far more complex and varied than for those in other sectors. Our gear units can be found throughout the metallurgical process chain – from rollers, forges and presses through to strip processing and tube production. These processes handle materials such as steel, aluminium, copper, brass, iron and iron alloys, and non-ferrous metals. Given these harsh operating conditions, we use an especially rugged, thick-walled design for our gear units, which ensures they provide high process reliability.
Our rolling mill gearboxes are designed and produced for an output torque range of up to 7,500 kN·m, a power rating of max. 20 MW and a maximum weight of 150 tonnes.
